Our Mission
Cross Border Civilians provides humanitarian aid to civilians who are in, or evacuating from, conflict zones.
We believe each person has inherent dignity. We triage our services based on medical need. We are an apolitical nonprofit that provides, facilitates, and supports disaster relief. We guide safe passage, provide trauma-informed support, aid in delivering and transporting critical supplies like food, and assist in connecting with resources and host communities that enable our refugees to rebuild, acclimate, and begin the next chapter of their lives in strength.
About
CBC originated with a 30 person international friend chat on Telegram App. Our founder realized that, in the midst of war, there was no centralized place to blast needs and no database with real-time information on services and help offers. She invited her group of friends to solve that problem. A core team began consolidating information, diligencing it to the best of their abilities, then making it publicly available, modeling their efforts on Wikipedia’s community.
Within days, CBC grew to a global scale, drawing individuals across generations, industries, and time zones. We now have several hundred volunteers, each of whom has given their time, expertise, and passion to CBC. These include some of the best technologists in the world, friends from Horasis and the World Economic Forum, humanitarians, entrepreneurs, people passionate about privacy and security, people with military backgrounds, civilians on the ground in Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, and many more. The CBC platform is a new type of social network, a “Web 4,” with both physical and digital components, and a focus on balancing privacy with the need for safety and trust.
What We Do
We designed and built an online platform of centralized services and resources.
This website hosts interfaces for those who need help and those who are offering help.
Those who need help, complete a short form that provides us with the information we need to contact them directly and assign a case manager. The forms have branching logic which allows us to triage cases by medical need. In a “high-touch” process, our Case Managers and Research Team review this information, then match people with screened services that are diligenced to the best of our ability.
We connect people with the help they need by centralizing services on one platform and allowing people to “cast their intent.”
What is intent casting? Intent casting is a way to blast need: a reverse advertisement.
How We Do It
Logistics, especially the most challenging last mile delivery
In Ukraine, our elite team of military-trained specialists delivers medical supplies, food, and communications equipment. "Operation Ukraine Relief" has already moved over 30 tons of life saving supplies. Cross Border Civilians can move supplies all over the globe and we do both macro and micro deliveries. Micro deliveries are targeted at individuals who need supplies like food or water.
Safe passage and evacuation
We transport people in need, including emergency evacuations. Our medics and ambulances pick up critically injured patients, get them stabilized, and transport them to hospitals. We also assist with route guidance and share realtime information.
Immigration assistance
We provide direct connections to best in class law firms. Our volunteers assist in advocacy.
Resettlement
We facilitate job placement and rehoming. We share a variety of job housing resources, including links to databases of civilians offering home stays. We also support social and emotional activities around acclimation.
Connecting with sister organizations
Over 40 other NGOs have partnered with us to share information on their services. We spend time researching and staying updated with who the best organizations are and which services they provide.
Programs & Partners
Operation Ukraine Relief
CBC is proud to announce its new operations arm in Ukraine!
Operation Ukraine Relief started with a group of industry leaders and former military personnel who came together to provide rapid aid to civilians in need during the Ukraine crisis. The team works to ensure delivery of lifesaving supplies, even deep in the conflict zone – an often dangerous task that requires a combination of ground experience and logistical support.
Ukraine NGO Coordination Network
UNCN is a network of 30+ NGOs (primarily 501c3s) based on the “team of teams” concept. These NGOs have learned from prior crises, including the evacuation of Afghanistan, that a collaborative effort can achieve results greater than the sum of its parts. UNCN was formed to provide an outward-facing single point of contact for those wishing to assist the NGOs doing the meaningful work on the ground and to centralize resource intake (both financial and non-financial) and deconflict and collaborate operations amongst NGOs.
Volunteers Welcome

Every little bit helps. Please consider a donation to help support our mission.
Use of gifts. Gifts given to Cross Border Civilians Foundation will provide aid for the benefit of civilians seeking to survive and escape from the war in Ukraine. We carefully match these gifts with recipients who have the highest level of need. The number of gifts received and/or designated for a particular use or program sometimes exceeds what is needed by the recipients designated for that use or program. In such a circumstance, Cross Border Civilians Foundation would redirect your donation to similar activities or circumstances of need.
